This multimedia tool is useful for those who have multidimensional & multi-relational chart. By using this, one can easily understand the relations between different dimensions. This tool has been developed using Active Server Pages under Windows 2000 Server. VBScript has been used in the ASP pages. MS-Access has been taken as the backend database.

Description :

We, at ignca, have used this tool for displaying the four dimensions of Muktesvara Temple Project. The database cog_map.mdb contains three table : Element_Element table defines the relationship between elements of one dimension to elements of the other dimension. Element_Detail table stores records related to each dimension's element like tool-tip, filename, audio (if available) etc. Temple_Plan table stores records related to the fourth dimension which contains images having different hotspot objects.

This tool uses one asp page, cog_map.asp for displaying the relationship. In this file, firstly a database connection is opened and based on one element in any desired dimension, related recordset is opened and then another recordset is opened for finding the relationship of that particular element with other elements. If the user clicks another element, it closes previous recordset and new recordset is opened for displaying the new records.

How To Use :

Copy the cog_map.asp file in the folder where server script files are available. Copy the database in the database folder. By providing a link at the required location, one can play with the multi-dimensional/ multi-relational chart.
