gathered
momentum recently , specifically in the
areas of speech corpora
development and Text-to-
natural Speech (TTnS) systems for Indian
languages and targeting towards time targeted
development of futuristic
Speech to Speech
Translation (S2S) system.
The International Conference on Speech and
Language Technology
(ICSLT) 2004 was organized
by C-DAC Noida during November
17-19, 2004 at
New Delhi. The key focus areas of the conference
were
Speech Synthesis and Recognition
technologies, Multilingual Speech
Corpora and
Application of Speech technology towards
innovative
products.
The Indo-German Workshop on Voice Enabled
Multilingual
Information Access (V-MIA) was held
at Anna University - KB
Chandrashekhar Centre
during December 03-06, 2004. A concrete
proposal
towards development of Voice Enabled Multilingual
Information Access (V-MIA) in India has been
developed.
