participation in acquisition, absorption and generation
of knowledge in their own languages. Over 95 percent
of population in India are non-English literate.
This necessitates need for Indian language support
on IT products and services. Indian languages have
phonetic similarity in alphabet. They have well
structured rule-based grammar, and are rich in ligatures.
Indian scripts were represented in the UNICODE but
there are anomalies. Comprehensive details on UNICODE
